Lion costume and Xmas gifts

Currently I prefer to post my sewing creation on Instagram. I find it more direct, fast and practical.
Anyway this is the last thing. My 4 yo niece asked for a lion costume as Xmas gift and remembered me to make the paws too. I drafted the pattern from the Marlene Mukai website . I made up a jacket, a pair of pants with tie, a mane hat and a pair of fingerless mittens. I love the result even if the mane hat seeems a bit too big 🙄.

My living room is now filled with hairs but who cares?

Diaper bag

I made a diaper bag! 😅If you want to try it out I recommend a dual feed presser foot and to choose wisely the fleece. Mine was a bit too thick and every now and then it was a pain in the neck to sew it. Here the link to the tute. The fabric is an upholstery canvas for the external layer, and a cotton quilt for the lining.

Couch case sewing

How much is it complicate to find out a sofa case? And if it has an isle and it is a bed couch ....my bro asked me if it were possible and I did it piece by piece. I am pretty satisfied with the result. The fabric was very easy to cut and sew, especially for its checks design.

Topponcino

So this is the famous “topponcino”, or security pillow. I prepared one for my daughter to be, in the hope it would be useful. I used an old blanket, cutting it in 4 layers and joining them at the edge with blanket stitch.

Then I sewed the interior lining from an old linen bedsheet (I had enough to make 2 unspdersheet for the crib matress), and from another fabric I made the case. N

ow I am sleeping with it, so in this way it will get the smell of mama......

Found chair revamp

We found this chair on the street the past week. At home we are always short of seats, especially when we have guest for our beloved feast. The structure appeared to be fine and we took it home.

This is the fabric I chose, as it reminded me the japanese roots of hubby.

the structure seemed to be a bit rusty and I bought primer and spray paint.

It was not rust, just plain old dirt and I applied the trusty "water&soap" remedy revealing a shiny surface. I gave up the painting and...

this is the final result. Simple, cheerful and useful.

Anna dress BHL

I do not really know HOW COULD I LIVE WITHOUT THIS BEAUTY!!! I' am planning to do one undred of these. Great job from By Hand London. The fabric it is a nice and drapey poli mix satin with a kinda "sakura" print.

 and trying new tips like covering the end of the invisible zipper.
